Romancing the Shadow
Romancing the Shadow was first published in 1997. Connie and I were old friends at that time and remain so today. I had been supervising her to obtain the hours to secure her doctoral program. She has many years of experience writing, editing and publishing books. She asked me if I would like to write a book with her. I gladly agreed. We proceeded to write this book for about a year, meeting in coffee shops and our homes. The book was recently republished in 2025. This book is the result of that relationship we have. The intent was to introduce the reader to the depths of psychology. We relied upon the notion of the Shadow, in order to identify what it means to do depth psychology – those thoughts and feelings that lie below our normal consciousness. Connie had already published an e book on meeting the Shadow. This discusses depth psychology. My experience of depth psychology with the clinical work I had been doing and continue to do, to continue to explore and understand the impact of unconscious shadow influenced from a Jungian point of view.
Romancing the Shadow is deep and complex and provides the reader the opportunity to reflect on the presence and impact of unconscious issues of the shadow and how it impacts the reader on their relationships, their thoughts and actions.

Evolving Couple
The Evolving Couple
The Evolving Couple is a book proposal attempting to address the fact that 50% of married couples divorce within 7 years. I look at this pattern of divorce as a natural development stage of the couple. The main thesis of this proposal is that the key to the evolution of the couple into more advanced stages of development requires first that both participants identify repetitive patterns, how they contribute to the emotional pain they experience. The reader is then introduced to methodology to assist them to learn how to change the patterns and how they can change the patterns to experience the joy, and love that they expect.

Masters Thesis & Dissertation
My doctoral dissertation was an attempt to measure Stages of Adult Development. It was a follow up of my Masters Thesis, published about 20 years earlier, which was an attempt to evaluate Psychological Testing from that same theoretical perspective. The introduction to the Dissertation includes a review of the literature and a comparison of different Stage theories. The second section was an analysis of a battery of tests to compare responses from three groups: One group was composed of students at the Humanistic Psychology Institute, many with Masters Degrees, seeking to earn their Ph.D.’s. A second group was comprised of students of the Arica Method for Spiritual development. And a third group consisted of adults of not pursuing an advanced education. I was fortunate enough to have met with Oscar Ichazo, founder of the Arica Method, on several occasions in developing the battery of tests. I did a sophisticated analysis to compare these three groups. The results indicated that the Arica group was less anxious in spite of having had more frequent significant changes in their life.
